Engage & Prosper move to the HIC, but what was it that won them over?🌸

After researching various options, they found the HIC as the perfect spot to call home. So, what was it about HIC that won them over? For starters, the clean, modern facilities were a major drawcard, but it was the professional and friendly approach of the staff and management that truly impressed.

When Engage & Prosper decided to relocate their business, they had one clear requirement: exceptional service and facilities. After researching various options, they found the HIC as the perfect spot to call home. So we asked them what was it about HIC that won them over, and found out a little more about their business journey? Here is what they said …

What is it about the HIC that has motivated you to base your business here?

“It was suggested to me by people I know have high standards and expectations and so went along to have a nose. I was impressed not just by the clean, modern facilities, but the professional  and friendly approach of all the staff and management.”

How has your experience been throughout your move to the centre, from your initial enquiry to your physical move in day?

“Faultless, any questions or queries I had been addressed with urgency and efficiency and continue to.”

What was your mission at the outset?

“To help employees have a more rewarding and fulfilling work life by supporting business leaders to understand how to get the best from their staff.”

When did you start the business?

“I started Engage & Prosper in 2014 when my son was not yet a year old, as I wanted the flexibility to be there as he needed me, given his dad travelled quite a bit at that point. The more I learned about the changing world of work and the future of work, the greater my passion to help more businesses achieve the business they set out to.”

What service(s) or product(s) do you offer/manufacture?

“We provide a number of coaching programmes and employee engagement and experience consultancy, mostly on how to build resilient, collaborative and high performing company cultures and workforces. As part of that we also provide company culture audits, covering research and insight, employee engagement surveys, strategic communications content plans for internal communications that drive and manage change positively,  as well as create and manage engaging employee mobile apps.”

How do you advertise your business?

“We do quite a bit of networking as a business and some advertising across business media like the East Midlands Chamber of Commerce and post lots of thought leadership pieces and videos on LinkedIn, Youtube and social media, as well as the odd webinar from time to time. Though Word of mouth is the best referral we can have.”

Can you improve something tomorrow based on today’s experience?

“Of course, this is the continuous improvement mindset and an always open learning style to life and work. We don’t know what we don’t know, until we do of course.”

What do you look for in an employee?

“The most important thing to us is that they fit into our corporate culture and have a curious and always learning mindset. Attitude is key, we can teach the knowledge.”

What made you choose your current location?

“Its brilliantly located for access to the main cities, rail and road network and so nowhere is so far you would make a trip. Though obviously online meetings make things much easier and less carbon miles.”

What are your companies’ biggest achievements?

“We worked alongside a consultancy to help Aardman Animations transition to an employee owned organisation. It was a pleasure and privilege to work with such a talented and creative group of people over several years. We have also contributed to panels and articles for the Institute of Internal Communications over the years. LinkedIn have also recently regarded Sharon Kennedy this year as a Top Internal Communications Voice.”

Do you work locally or nationally?

“We work locally, regionally, nationally and internationally.  Our company mobile app solutions, coaching and strategic internal communications services can be delivered in many languages if needed. We love face to face in person time, but online, with effective communications is also very effective these days.”

What is unique about your business?

“We tailor solutions that really are best for the client, and their goals and needs. If we don’t think we can help, we will refer them to a business who most likely can. A rarity in these days and becoming more so.”

Where do you see your business in 10 years?

“I’d like to grow the business where others can trade under the brand name and access the same services and products we do, to their own clients. As a bolt on to their own services and skills if you will. Consultants and businesses in HR, Marketing, Operations, Sales or Health & Safety would be a good fit for the solutions and products we offer for employers.”
